The SCYC_SCYPHOZOACOSMOS clan is the primordial universe of the Interminable Contraptions — the first cosmos, the estranged world, the stylised membrane from which all later clans (APPL, ENEN, ZZZT) eventually differentiated. These GIFs are the grumbling hillbillies of the lineage: the errant, uncomfortable, unpolished, too‑honest ancestors that no one wants to talk about but everyone secretly descends from.

This clan is built from the footage of ZACHAR PLAYS GLASS, the DVD‑era relic filmed in the ancient epoch when humans still watched disks on televisions. In these recordings, Zachar performs all five of Philip Glass’s Metamorphosis pieces — works defined by looping structures, repeated gestures, and the right hand leaping over the left in a ritualised colotomic pattern. The performance is stylised to the point of abstraction: hair sculpted into a Kuifje point, dyed orange; hands weaving in ritual arcs; gestures exaggerated into a kind of musical mask.

This stylisation is not parody. It is not imitation. It is not mockery. It is ontology.

The SCYC clan explores the idea that the performer becomes part of the musical structure — absorbed into the mask, swallowed by the gesture, stylised into a ritual figure.
