NOTES: Composition for piano solo known as 'The Mesmerising Cycle'. It is one of the SEVEN INCESSANT CYCLES for Solo Piano for which have been choreographed a set of movements associated with each piano phrase as the player moves himself around the piano to achieve the practical purpose of realising the composition. In this work, the movements are connected to the concept of hympnotism where the piano player reaches difference levels of trance with eah new level providing a new insight into the piano player's 'past'; memory, even when recalled through processes like hypnotism, is an unreliable and unthruthful mistress .

And then as the chant gets quicker, and the voices polyphonic, and as instruments are revealed one by one, the masks are removed, and the 'cult-leader' becomes a conductor, we know some type of ritual has taken place. But was it music or theatre?
