The full title for this artwork is GETTING GOT: Get a GOTOGRAM for Printed Art.
This artwork incorporates the work of Californian printmaker Ines Monguio who was gracious enough to permit me to make this artwork based on an image she sent me.
Ines, you see, had agreed to receive a "gotogram" from me - a unique two part envelope I designed to send to other artists to promote creativity.
Furthermore, Ines' participation in this interactive postal art project was particularly inspirational and as a result I not only created the artwork but also a new form of the gotogram envelope, examples of which you can see in both the artwork above.
I created the artwork below for THE HAND: The Magazine for Reproduction Based Art. It appears in edition 49 (July 2025). This artwork incorporates into it a scanable QR-Code which allows the readers of the magazine immediate access to this multimedia representation on their smartphones. This was Adam Finkelston's idea who offered me the chance to present my work which involved in a dynamic way printmaking practice as much as the products it produces.
I dedicate this multimedia artwork, of course, to its star - Ines Monguio who graciously allowed herself to "Get Got" - in other words, to allow her creativity to inspire me... even if the way I interpret it is entirely in an unexpected direction. I adore it when artists do me the honour of allowing me to interpret their art in my own way and who therefore celebrate my creativity in whichever form it takes.
Like the artwork you may have scanned to reach this more complete iteration, this artwork is dense in content and tells a number of narratives simultaneously.
